The Disneyland Resort has a few Character Dining options. I have eaten at Goofy’s Kitchen a few times but I have always wanted to eat at Minnie and Friends Breakfast in the Park, and this past October I was finally able to.
At Minnie and Friends Breakfast in the Park you can join Minnie and her friends for a delicious breakfast at the Plaza Inn. As you are dining on breakfast favorites, characters will come around and visit each table. You are able to chat with them and get a picture and autograph. You can dine on a delicious breakfast while enjoying the sites and sounds of Disneyland. I have included my tips and review of this fabulous Character Dining below.
How to Book
To enjoy Minnie & Friends Breakfast in the Park you have to have a reservation. Reservations can be made up to 60 days before the specific day you are wanting to eat here. This Character Dining is only available during breakfast. The best place to make your reservation will be on Disneyland’s website. Follow the steps below to make your reservation.
Follow the link above to the Disneyland website. This will take you directly to the Plaza Inn page.
Click on Check Availability. This will prompt you to log into your Disney account, if you are not already logged in.
Here you will be able to select the date, time, and party size. I recommend leaving the time set to Breakfast. By doing so you will see all of the times available for the day.
After you have entered in this information select “Search Times”. Below will be the list of available times. As you can see here only one time is available for this particular day. When you select your time, you will be taken to a screen to enter in your payment and billing information.
Lastly, you will confirm your reservation to finish booking it. Once confirmed you will have your reservation to have breakfast with Minnie and her friends.
I recommend making your reservations as soon as they become available so you have multiple times to choose from. When my family and I want to make a reservation, I count out what 60 days before our chosen day for the breakfast is and I set a reminder in my phone so I can make the reservation the day it becomes available.
Menu
Minnie’s Breakfast has so many options of food, no one will leave hungry. It is an all-you-care-to-eat buffet style meal. You can enjoy made-to-order omelets, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, fried chicken, breakfast potatoes, biscuits and gravy, French toast, Minnie waffles, cereals, muffins, croissants, pastries, and fruit. For your drink options you can choose from coffee, juice, milk, soft drinks, or water. I ate the Minnie waffles, bacon, and breakfast potatoes. All of which were amazing and delicious. You are able to try any of the items you want and you can go back for more. I went back for seconds on the waffles. I couldn’t resist these yummy items. If someone in your party has an allergy, no worries, make a note of the allergy when you book the reservation. Then when you check in let the Cast Member know and they will help you.
Characters
After you check in you will be greeted by your hostess, Minnie Mouse. There is a Disneyland Photographer to take pictures of you with Minnie. We were able to take our time with her, and the photographer took multiple pictures of us. He started out taking pictures of the whole family with Minnie. My mom, sister, and I were in Minnie Mouse inspired outfits, so he also took pictures with just the "Minnies" aka the girls. This is just the first character interaction. After you are seated different characters make their way around to each table. If you are seated indoors you may see more characters but it can be noisier. We were seated outside and saw plenty of characters. Before the characters begin to visit the tables there will be an announcement and the characters will do a parade around the restaurant. There is a chance that characters will stop by your table while you are getting your next helping of food, but a lot of times they will circle back. We weren’t able to see every character but we definitely got pictures with quite a few. The characters we saw were Dale, Pooh Bear, Suzy, and Daisy. They prefer you stay at your table and don't walk up to the characters to see them. What makes this Character Dining so fun is seeing characters you don’t always see around the park and also seeing the more common characters without waiting in any lines.
Eating a delicious breakfast in Disneyland while characters are coming around is an amazing way to start your Disney day. It kicks the magic into high gear.
