How Many Days Would Be Best to Spend in the Parks at the Disneyland Resort?

When buying theme park tickets to the Disneyland Resort it can be hard to know how many days you should purchase. On Get Away Today’s website you can buy a 2-day, 3-day, 4-day, or 5-day ticket. To get the most out of your Disney trip I recommend going to the parks 3-5 days. I have included my tips for how to purchase the right park tickets for you and your family.

Park Hopper Ticket Vs. One-Park-Per-Day

There are 2 options of tickets when going to the Disneyland Resort, a Park Hopper Ticket or a One-Park-Per-Day Ticket. I recommend getting a Park Hopper Ticket. This ticket will allow you to bounce back and forth from Disneyland to California Adventure. You will get to repeat more rides and have a better chance of seeing more of the shows and parades with a Park Hopper. For more tips on Park Hopping click here for my blog post.

You Don’t Have to Rush and You Get More Done

Going to Disneyland and California Adventure for more than 1 or 2 days makes it so you can take your time and enjoy the magic. You won’t have to rush from ride to ride or hurry to the shows. You will have time to people watch and stumble upon some of the magical experiences Disney has to offer. We enjoy not having to plan out our entire day and are able to meet characters when we see them, and we can wait in the longer lines for the more popular attractions without feeling like we are “wasting” time. Having more time in the park also gives us the chance to grab a delicious snack and sit down to give our feet a rest while we enjoy our treats rather than eating on the go. When doing this we sometimes see characters walking around or enjoy some of the musical entertainment. It makes each day more enjoyable to be able to take our time when in the parks and really enjoy all that Disney has to offer.

You Will Have the Ability to Take Breaks During the Day

This is one of the biggest perks about going for multiple days. You have the time and ability to take breaks from the parks. If you are staying close enough you can go back to your hotel and rejuvenate in the middle of the day. This helps a lot when it’s hot outside and when you have kiddos. Being able to take the time to take a rest can help everyone in your group enjoy more of the day and not burn out. If you aren’t staying close enough to go back to your hotel you can still relax on one of the benches or while watching one of the shows.

Repeat Rides and Shows

Having a multiple day ticket to Disneyland and California Adventure will allow you to ride attractions more than once. When you go to the parks for only 1 or 2 days you might feel like you have to only ride each attraction once so you can try to fit them all in. Going for more days will allow you to re-ride the attractions and not feel like you are missing out on others. This is great especially when you have little kids who have a favorite ride that they want to go on multiple times. You are able to grant their wish and let them enjoy that ride again and again. The same goes for shows. Their might be a show that you loved and want to watch again. Well, when you attend the park multiple days you will have more opportunities to see another showing.

Enjoy More of the Food

At Disneyland and California Adventure they are a lot of delicious restaurants and treats to eat. Going to the parks for more days will allow you to try more of these scrumptious items. We have so many favorite restaurants and treats that even going 5 days we can’t eat all of it. However, we are able to enjoy a lot more of them and are able to prioritize our favorites to make sure we get those.

Meet More Characters

The more days you spend in the parks the more chances you have to see and meet characters. Since you won’t feel like you have to rush from ride to ride you never know what characters you will encounter. On our last trip, we ran into multiple characters and were able to get photos with many of them. We don’t feel like we are spending precious ride time on meeting the characters because we have plenty of time to do both. Seeing and meeting characters adds another level to the Disney magic that you won’t want to miss.
